Our Projects

Sub-surface Energy Storage, Irish Sea

Subsurface Energy Storage

INC provided consenting management support to a renewable electricity generating business on potential sub-surface energy storage options beneath the Irish Sea.

Specific advice covered the consenting options available to the project and practical approaches to meeting requirements under the TEN-E Regulation process for EU cross-border projects.

National Grid, North Wales

DCO Overhead Line, National Grid

The National Grid North Wales Connection, 400kV electricity transmission line between new nuclear generation at Wylfa Newydd on the Isle of Anglesey to the existing National Grid in North Wales.

INC provided professional consenting support to National Grid. Providing DCO management and planning advice during the evolution of the project design, throughout DCO application preparation and submission, up to point of DCO examination.

National Grid, Mid Wales

Overhead Line DCO, NSIP, DCO Manager, Consent

The National Grid Mid Wales Connection was a proposed 400kV transmission line between renewable generation in Mid Wales to the existing National Grid in Shropshire.

INC led the site optioneering process for substation sites in Powys. This role included coordination of the wider consultant team to produce a Substation Siting Study and two separate Consultation Feedback Reports on behalf of National Grid. INC also developed a pioneering consenting strategy for National Grid on the (then new) 2008 Planning Act DCO Process, including the application of this to the devolved administration in Wales.

National Highways, M5 Junction 10

DCO Manager, NSIP, National Highways

INC supported Gloucestershire Council on the M5 Junction 10 DCO Project during preparation of future DCO application. Main role has been through professional review of key project documentation on behalf of National Highways and providing consenting advice to the project in this regard.

INC were appointed to manage the DCO for this National Highways road project. INC managed inputs into a draft DCO application, ensuring high quality of submission documents. Our work also involved liaising with numerous statutory consultees to progress Statements of Common Ground, and managing the wider team to deliver a DCO for this benchmark highway project in Somerset.

National Highways, A417 Missing Link

INC were appointed to DCO manage the A417 Missing Link scheme on behalf of National Highways. INC successfully managed a series of subconsultants to ensure that the DCO process progressed effectively and efficiently, through statutory consultations, application preparation, during examination and discharge of DCO requirements. The consent we achieved with National Highways has allowed this long-awaited and unique new road project within the Cotswold AONB to commence construction.

National Grid, Richborough Connection

DCO Management; National Grid

The National Grid Richborough Connection is a new 400kV electricity transmission line between Richborough and Canterbury in Kent, connecting the UK to a new Belgian sub-sea high voltage interconnector link (known as Nemo Link www.nemo-link.com).

 
INC provided professional support throughout the evolution of the project and up to formal grant of development consent.

Energy Park NSIP, Northeast England

DCO Manager; DCO Consultant; Energy Park

INC delivered core DCO project documentation for a consultancy managing a novel energy park Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project in northeast England. INC delivered documentation for a successful DCO application to be made to the Secretary of State. Development consent for this project has now been granted.
